It’s hard to believe, but what you just looked at is student work by Simon Alander from Sweden. Tasked to design some sort of packaging, he came up with this fictional beer label. The lettering is a hand-drawn version of the typeface Phaeton using a lot of soft curves to enhance the organic feel of the label. Awesome execution. Check out some of his other fine crafted lettering works.
I love this branding by Pentagram for the 2011 London Design Festival. The design was inspired by the phrase ‘Design from all angles.’ This could have easily crossed over into being cheesy, but it was executed perfectly. It’s interesting, bold and doesn’t seem to get boring.
We may be a little late to the party, but we can’t leave something as beautiful as this out of our arsenal of all things inspiring. Helm’s Workshop did an incredible job branding this Austin hot dog joint. Seeing this and the typography mural that Visual Armory just completed makes me want to get out the computer, oversized paper and create my own art somewhere. I could stare at this all day.
