Someone accidentally left a deck of cards out on the sidewalk overnight in the rain. I happened to stumble upon it while walking the dog. The scene was so strange and beautiful I went all the way home to get the camera.
It’s so hard to believe Fall is right around the corner. As hard as it is to let Summer fade, the kid in me gets excited about pumpkin porters, apple picking, hot cider, pumpkin pies and apple cider doughnuts. Basically any food with pumpkin or apples in it.
This year, we had a head start on our excitement for the season. We had the honor of working with Jayson Home on their Fall 2011 catalog. After seeing the goods in person and staring at them on screen for days, we’re slightly obsessed. The quality and colors in their furnishings are incredible—like the peacock blue and green velvet armchairs. I’m also in love with their claw foot candlesticks and bottle opener.
Who took these amazing photos you ask? Andy Barnes. Incredible, isn’t he? We stopped by during one of the photo shoots at the Three Arts Club to lend a helping hand. For the shoot, Jayson Home hired a handler to bring in live reptiles and amphibians along with taxidermied animals. It was really interesting to watch the snakes interact with the products. They just did their thing and the moment was captured. Here are some behind-the-scene shots from that day.

I went to Revision Home’s May preview party on Thursday night and had to tell myself to keep walking as I passed one beautiful piece of furniture after another. Every piece of furniture and accessory at Revision Home is truly vintage—it’s either been reupholstered or in its original state. It’s hard to find things like this these days. I was afraid to sit on any of it because I might have put a wrinkle in the fabric. :] Alongside the collection of amazingness was Erika Dufour’s fine art photography. Her photographs of candid Geishas were mesmerizing.
